If you had to measure your faith where would it be? (Hebrews 11)
Updated: Dec 19, 2021
In today's world that is in flux and change, where is your Faith?
If the writer of Hebrews was writing that today, would your name be on the list of notable mentions?
It's a direct question, and I am not asking in the arrogance of being better or worse or even to judge. I am simply asking, be honest with yourself. Where would it be? Would you be in the main text, the footnotes, or not even mentioned?
Hebrews 11:1-3 Now Faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it, the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By Faith, we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
What is Faith to you?
Faith - Pistis in Greek (look up the further meanings)
In Hebrews, the word Faith is mentioned in almost every verse. Could that mean that it would be necessary? Civilizations devastated, elderly having babies, walls crumbling down because of Faith.
The picture for the blog is flowers and a cross with the word Faith, but Faith to me does not always look that way. At times it is scary, and the outcome is unknown, creating an element of fear or concern.
But over and over in the Bible references this idea of Faith, and we should have it, do you?

In Hebrews 11:35 - 38
35 Women received their dead raised to life again.
Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance that they might obtain a better resurrection. 36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, [a]were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
How do you process being stoned or sawn in two without Faith?
What is God calling you to do?
Is your lack of Faith keeping you from doing it?
Are you continuing to trust yourself, or do you trust in GOD?
Unraveling ourselves and pushing into God is the key. We would love to know your thoughts!
